Club Med is to open its new all-inclusive ski resort, Valmorel, in the Savoy region of the French Alps on December 18. The resort overlooks the Tarentaise and the Maurienne Valleys and offers winter sports and a host of other activities.

“Valmorel is the latest addition to the Club Med portfolio of 18 ski resorts in the European Alps. This purpose-built resort offers so much for our South African customers, three levels of comfort catering for all budgets and a full range of activities for couples and families alike,” says Stuart de Bourgogne, Managing Director of Club Med South Africa.

Valmorel provides a spacious skiing area. – Le Grand Domaine comprises more than 150km of piste with over 85 runs, all accessible from the door of the resort. Guests are also provided with lift passes that are part of the all-inclusive package and whatever their ability, Club Med provides comprehensive ski or snowboard lessons and even a specialized ski programme for expert skiers.

“Valmorel is not only about skiing, snowboarding and hiking.  We have been fastidious in creating a resort that will appeal to a diverse range of guests.  The Club Med Spa by Carita, the Children’s Clubs for those between four months and 18 years, three restaurants, indoor pool, Turkish bath and ice rink are just some of the facilities,” says de Bourgogne.

Those looking for a touch of luxury can experience the *5 Trident Space, Le Lodge, that offers spacious suites with personalized services such as a concierge, room service and dedicated ski room. Guests can spend quality time with their partner, friends or family enjoying a glass of champagne in the private lounge.

More discerning guests who are looking for complete privacy can enjoy an all-inclusive Club Med experience with a difference by staying in a Luxury Chalet Apartment (2, 3, 4 bedrooms available) located within the grounds of the Club Med resort.

“Club Med is delighted to introduce Valmorel to our South African guests; the resort is definitely the destination of choice for those wishing to experience the thrill of the slopes this season,” concludes de Bourgogne.

Prices start from R24 595 per person sharing.
